OCA National Convention

Ten OCA-WHV members and three YOCA members attended the 2024 OCA National Convention in Philadelphia, PA. July 11-14. This is another memorable and impactful event that celebrates and empowers the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community.

OCA partnered with the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) and APIAVote, two of the most influential organizations in AANHPI advocacy and representation. We are stronger together! We examined the importance of civic engagement and solidarity in a critical election year. We participated in a community fair, an evening concert, a presidential town hall with Vice President of US Kamala Harris, and breakout sessions where we engaged in meaningful dialogues with guest speakers and fellow attendees on various topics of interest and concern.

The OCA National Convention brings together students, working professionals, thought leaders, and community members of all generations for three days of workshops, activities, and plenaries. Through learning and connecting with each other, attendees are able to take their experiences back to their local communities to lead and uplift others.
