On May 21, 2024, OCA-WHV collaborated with White Plains library on their third annual AAPI film night presenting hard-hitting documentaries about Asian American history. The evening began with a showing of the short documentary "K-TOWN '92: Reporters", a short documentary that filmmaker Grace Lee directed about four Los Angeles Times staffers who covered the Los Angeles riots. The audience then toured the interactive project K-Town '92, a website with short interviews of hundreds of people of many backgrounds, who witnessed the events during which 63 people were killed, 2,383 were injured, more than 12,000 were arrested, and estimates of property damage were over $1 billion, including over 2,200 Korean American businesses disproportionately burned or destroyed. The audience considered the genesis of the uprising and the role of media bias in the coverage of the events of 1992.
